Session 6 of 7

The Church

Your Spiritual Family

Big idea

The church is more than a building. It's a community where we grow in faith and support each other.

Key Passages

Read

Acts 2:42-47

This passage describes how the first followers of Jesus lived in community.

Highlight or underline: what the early church devoted themselves to.

Hebrews 10:24-25

This verse encourages believers to meet together and support one another.

Highlight or underline: words that describe what we should do when we gather.

Reflect

Take a few moments to answer these questions:

  1. Do you see church as a place to just attend, or as a family to belong to? Why?
  2. What does it mean to you to be part of a group that encourages and supports one another?
  3. How can you contribute to building up the church community?

Apply

Get Involved

If you're not already part of a church, take a step to find one in your area or explore ways to connect more deeply in your current church.

Serve

Look for one small way to serve others in your church or community this week, whether it's volunteering, offering to pray for someone, or helping out with a need.

Generosity

Look for ways to participate financially in the life of the church you belong to. Prioritize cheerful giving to your church as a part of your faith life.

Challenge

Try this before next session

Commit to attending at least one church gathering or small group. If you already attend, focus on building a deeper connection by challenging yourself with an attendance streak or inviting someone to come with you.

The church is God's way of bringing people together to grow in faith, love, and purpose. You are an important part of this family, and your involvement makes a difference.
