Session 3 of 7

Who is Jesus?

Discovering Your Savior

Big idea

Jesus is the center of our faith. He shows us who God is and offers us new life.

Key Passages

Read

John 1:1-14

This passage introduces Jesus as "the Word" and explains His role in creation and salvation.

Highlight or underline: who Jesus is described to be (light, life, the Word, etc.).

Colossians 1:15-20

This passage talks about Jesus' power and authority over everything.

Highlight or underline: what it says about Jesus' relationship with God and the world.

Reflect

Take a few moments to answer these questions:

  1. Have you ever thought about Jesus as more than just a historical figure?
  2. What does it mean to you that Jesus wants a personal relationship with you?
  3. How does Jesus being "light in the darkness" apply to your life right now?

Apply

Personal Reflection

Take a moment to think about what Jesus means to you. Write down a few words that describe who He is in your life (e.g., friend, savior, guide).

Take a Moment

Take a moment to sit in a quiet place and truly pause for 5 full minutes to say, "Jesus, I want to know You more."

Explore the Gospels

Pick one story from Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John and read how Jesus interacted with people.

Challenge

Try this before next session

Tonight before bed, take a real moment to thank Jesus for something good in your life and ask Him to help you in one specific area where you need Him.

Jesus isn't just a figure in history. He's alive and wants to be part of your everyday life. He offers you light, hope, and a fresh start.
